Kenneth W. Coffey, DDS
Dr. Kenneth Coffey has been practicing in the Orland Park area for over 30 years, he graduated St. Joseph’s College where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry. He received his DDS degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry. While at Loyola he earned an opportunity to participate in a practice residency program which allowed him to gain a more advanced dental experience at both Hines and Loyola Hospitals. Dr. Coffey has been committed to performing only the highest quality, comprehensive, state of the art dental care.
Dr. Coffey has continued his education at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies, the Panky Institute along with the Spear Institute. Dr. Coffey has completed a residency in both implant dentistry and Orthodontics. At the Piper Clinic, Dr. Coffey has furthered his education studying TMD disorders, commonly referred to as TMJ. He also holds a certificate in conscious sedation which helps greatly reduce the anxiety many patients have with dental procedures.
Dr. Coffey is active in several study clubs for over 30 years and continues his passion on staying current in the advancements in dental care including occlusal or bite problems and sleep apnea. Dr. Coffey is a past president of the South Suburban Branch of the Chicago Dental Society, he is a Delegate to the Illinois State Society and is the current chair of the South Suburban Branch peer review. Dr. Coffey maintains a membership in the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society and the American Equilibration Society.
Christopher Coffey, DDS, MAS, MS, FACP
Dr. Christopher Coffey is a Board-Certified Prosthodontist at Distinctive Smile Design. Prosthodontics is one of the ten dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association. A prosthodontist focuses on the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the oral function associated with missing or deficient teeth. It is Dr. Coffey’s goal to continually provide the highest quality of care and it was this passion that led him to complete his specialty training in Prosthodontics.
Dr. Coffey was raised on the south suburbs of Chicago. He attended Loras College in Dubuque, IA where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. He continued his education at the Illinois Institute of Technology where he earned a Master’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. Following graduation, Dr. Coffey earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dental Medicine. During his time at Indiana, Dr. Coffey was continually recognized by his peers and faculty members for his excellence in restorative and prosthetic treatment. Upon graduation he received many awards from his professors including, the American College of Prosthodontists Award, American Academy of Implant Dentistry Award, and the Academy of Osseointegration Outstanding Dental Student Award.
Dr. Coffey continued his dental education at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. There he completed a three-year specialty residency in Prosthodontics, where the focus was on the diagnosis, treatment planning, and maintenance of complex dental cases. During his specialized education he received extensive training in all aspects of restorative dentistry including, full mouth reconstructions, implant supported fixed hybrids and overdentures, implant restorations, crowns, veneers, dentures, and partials. In addition, he received surgical training in the placement of dental implants. While completing his specialty in Prosthodontics, Dr. Coffey also completed a Master of Science degree in Oral Sciences.
Dr. Coffey is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He achieved this remarkable accomplishment by challenging and successfully completing the national Prosthodontic board exam, administered by leaders in the field of Prosthodontics. Obtaining Diplomate status made Dr. Coffey approximately one of only 1,100 board-certified prosthodontists in the world.
A perfectionist by nature, Dr. Coffey is committed to providing the highest level of treatment to his patients. His continual passion for learning and keen eye for detail, allows Dr. Coffey to provide each patient with a unique treatment plan, designed for their specific needs. On the special occasion when Dr. Coffey is not spending time with teeth, he enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, golfing and relaxing at the lake. Dr. Coffey and his wife recently celebrated the birth of their first child, a beautiful baby girl!
